UMASS Amherst Student Chapter of INFORMS Received the INFORMS Student Chapter Annual Award Summa Cum Laude at the INFORMS National Meeting, which was held in San Diego, October 11-14, 2009. The award was given on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Our chapter received the same award in the year 2007 as well. And last year we got Magna Cum Laude Award at the INFORMS National Meeting, which was held in Washington DC, October 12-15, 2008.

And this year, Dr. Patrick Qiang received honorary Judith Liebman award. Congratulations to our ex-officer.

There were the following PhD recipients from ISOM at the conference: Jose Cruz of UCONN, Dmytro Matsypura of the University of Sydney, Tina Wakolbinger of the University of Memphis, Shenghan Xu of the University of Idaho, Debbie O'Connor of Holy Cross, Zugang "Leo" Liu of Penn State Hazleton, Fuminori Toyasaki of York University, Patrick Qiang of Penn State Malvern, Deanna Kennedy, now at Texas A&M. Several of our present doctoral students in Management Science were also at the conference: Xuan Huang, Baris Hasdemir, and Milad Ebtehaj.
